November22
Last month, Kuya invited me to join them (Dulce and him) to watch Rihanna and Chris Brown’s concert last November 16 in Taguig. Being a not-so-fanatic, I hesitated to join them because I don’t feel like spending 3.000 bucks to watch a concert of someone I don’t really love (I just like them). Kuya even asked me to look for someone to join me so I won’t feel out of place in case I decided to join them.
So after a brief conversation, I checked my contacts list in Yahoo Messenger and looked for someone online who could join me watch the concert. Then I found Cathy, my college dorm mate who’s of course, so dear to me :), and so I asked her.
Then, she said she’s not sure and the other 239ers (the term we use to address our group because our dorm room way back in college is 239) are considering to watch the Michael Learns to Rock (MLTR) concert scheduled on the 22nd of November, just a week after Rihanna and Chris Brown’s concert.
Being a total fanatic of MLTR since elementary days, I made up my mind that I wouldn’t let myself miss this very rare opportunity to hear my favourite songs, LIVE! I still considered watching Rihanna and Chris Brown’s concert but then I decided not to.
So the night came and I had one of the most fascinating nights of my life!

Tere, Di and I were the only ones who decided to watch the concert because the others have their reasons.. Well, I understand them. I just know that the night would be even better with them.
We left UP around 7:30 pm. We had a hard time getting a cab but good thing we still made it on time. We arrived at Araneta in Cubao, a few minutes plus minus 8 pm, bought EyeMax for a better and closer view of the band, found our seats and waited.

While waiting, the three of us could no longer hide the excitement and joy that at last, we will hear our favourite band (our guilty pleasure, as Tere used to call it) sing our fave songs!!!! Waiting still, we were attracted to buy the fluffiest cotton candy we’ve ever seen so we bought one for the three of us.

We ate and enjoyed the cotton candy for a few minutes until we realized that it was no longer making us happy. It slowly turned into a torture! Geez, the sweet taste of the sugar and seeing the size of it.. Gosh! Urk!

Then I saw one kid asked her mom or guardian maybe, to buy her one.. and I said to myself, “Huh, akala mo kaya mo ubusin yan! Akala mo ha!” (You think you can finish that? Huh!) Hahaha
We waited for few more minutes, we still tried to eat but gave up.. (The three of us were not able to finish the cotton candy so we brought it home for our loving roommies. :-P)
At 8:30 pm, they turned off the lights and the concert began! A band went out from the backstage and started performing. At first, we didn’t recognize that it was already them performing on stage since they started the night with a new song and the vocalist Jascha Richter, had his hair colored with something darker. (He had his hair white like an alien, years back)
The following songs were all great and the crowd was really great! Until now, I can still feel the joy of hearing their songs specifically my faves: Complicated Heart, Love will Never Lie, Out of the Blue, The Actor and Wild Women (that made us wild LoLz)
The crowd reached their height of enjoyment when the band sang 25 Minutes. Geez, Jascha even went down the stage, walked down the aisle and had some pictures taken with a very few lucky women! I just wish I was one of them! They also sang a new song that I liked. It’s called Sweetest Surprise and another one that I wasn’t able to note the title. (According to Jascha they just found the song in the internet)
Around 10 pm, they said thanks and goodbyes and left the stage. But the crowd didn’t stop asking them to go back the stage and perform some more songs. The three of us were really crazy then because we feel like we want more of them.. We really wanted MORE!
So after about a minute, they went back the stage, performed a lot more songs and ended with That’s Why You Go Away with a big bang (thanks to the Lead Guitarist :)) Before the song ended, Jascha again went down the stage and still, we weren’t there to have a picture of him because we were sitting at the Upperbox A.
The night was really great. For two hours, MLTR owned the stage! I just can’t write everything in detail. I just know how happy I am that I was able to spend and enjoy the night with my fellow MLTR addicts, Di and Tere. Just CLICK HERE FOR MORE PICTURES.
I wish I could watch some more concerts in the future like The Corrs, Air Supply, Fra Lippo Lippi, David Cook and our local artist Gary V.
Once again, I just wanna say.. I really had a great night!
